Simple Control

With the ClimaCab® digital touch screen, complete in-cab comfort is only a few strokes away. The user-friendly interface allows you to easily preset temperature levels so that you can focus on what really matters - a good night's rest.

In Bunk Evapaorator

The compact evaporator unit was designed with driver comfort in mind. Its sleek profile has no ducting and mounts discreetly to the rear interior wall of the sleeper, saving valuable storage space. Intelligent software continuously monitors temperature changes, communicating between the compressor and fans to precisely match output with driver needs. The silent operation of its fully variable speed, dual 300 CFM fans assure a quiet night's sleep.

Power Management Module

An aspect of cab cooling that is often ignored, power management truly differentiates ClimaCab® from its competitors. Bolted to the frame rail, the Power Management Module™ (PMM) has the unique ability to direct the flow of energy between the alternator and both battery banks to provide maximum system run time. Utilizing solid state technology, the PMM charges batteries to preset factory profiles and extends battery life without costly alternator upgrades. Its revolutionaryStart Assist™ feature helps eliminate jump starts by recharging depleted starter batteries.

Condenser

Exceeding our high standards for quality and innovation, this high impact, glass-reinforced Nylon case was designed to withstand the harsh elements of an over the road environment. Typically mounted underneath the outside of the cab, it utilizes a high voltage brushless DC compressor. This module integrates commands from the evaporator to continuously optimize compressor speed and efficiency.

ClimaCab® uses 4 deep cycle AGM batteries which supply a 400 amp hour capacity. The ClimaCab® battery bank is isolated from the truck's starter batteries to eliminate non-start issues. Intelligent controls monitor the batteries for optimum charging and long life. This heavy-duty bank mounts securely to the truck rails and is backed with a standard four year warranty.

Reduce Your Idle %

Conserving Oil

A Class 8 Truck consumes .8 gallons per hour of diesel fuel while idling at night to keep its driver comfortable in the sleeper cab. Many trucks idle up to 2000 hours per year consuming 1600 gallons of fuel.

Our ClimaCab electric APU eliminates the need to idle the truck's engine. Fleets can save as much as $4800 per truck per year.

Eliminating Carbon

The United States EPA estimates that 22.2 pounds of CO2 is generated for every gallon of fuel consumed. A truck idling 2000 hours a year puts over 17 tons of carbon into the atmosphere.

There are approximately 2 million trucks operating in the United States, half of which are sleeper cabs that typically idle at this level.

Changing Power Generation

The generator set has not changed a lot since its introduction. Most designs run at two speeds -- idle and full rpm -- and are sized for their peak output characteristics.

Glacier Bay is changing that. Our "load aware" power electronics technology actually anticipates changes in the load on a system and varies the engine speed of the generator accordingly. The result is reduced fuel consumption, lighter, small size systems, noise reduction and an overall increase in responsiveness. This "disruptive technology" will change the face of the generator set market.
